Mama Goblin Games

Mama Goblin Games was started by the Canales family in 2019 when we decided to take one of the board games our kids created to the next level. It seemed like our 9 and 11 year old boys invented games together almost daily - often just using paper and spare game parts or just drawings on the kitchen chalkboard. During the summer of 2019, when they created a board game concept that seemed to have some immediate potential, we encouraged them to use some of their summer break to take it further. We worked with them on creating a full instructions booklet in Google Docs, using Gimp to design a game board, printing and gluing the boards, play testing and tweaking the rules, writing the overview/pitch for the game, and creating a website.

Although we're often creating board games, we've been programming together since they were 4 and 6, so we also create video games using Game Maker Studio 2 and Unreal Engine.
